UNIDA Gontor – The Communication Science Study Program under the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor is set to organize a prestigious visiting lecture aimed at strengthening students’ understanding of international communication in contemporary global contexts. This academic event will feature Elizabeth Diana Dewi, B.Hsc., M.Ir., a distinguished Senior Diplomat with extensive experience in international relations and strategic communication.
The visiting lecture is centered on the theme “Shaping Global Narratives: The Strategic Importance of International Communication in Time of Crisis.” This topic is highly relevant in today’s interconnected world, where information dissemination, media framing, and diplomatic messaging play a crucial role in influencing global perception and policy responses. The session will examine how international communication functions as a strategic instrument in managing crises, mitigating misinformation, and fostering cross-border collaboration.
Through this lecture, participants will gain deeper insights into how narratives are constructed at the global level and how state and non-state actors utilize communication channels to achieve diplomatic and political objectives. The discussion will also highlight real-world case studies, offering practical perspectives on crisis communication, public diplomacy, and global media engagement.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 8:00 AM (local time) and will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing broader participation. Attendees can join online via Zoom or attend the session offline at the Public Relations Laboratory of UNIDA Gontor. This flexible format reflects the institution’s commitment to inclusive and adaptive learning environments in the digital era.
This visiting lecture is expected to significantly enrich students’ academic experience, particularly for those specializing in communication studies, journalism, and international relations. It also serves as a platform to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical expertise from professionals actively engaged in global affairs.
By hosting this event, the Faculty of Humanities at UNIDA Gontor reaffirms its commitment to fostering academic excellence, enhancing global competence, and preparing students to become skilled communicators capable of navigating complex international landscapes.
