UNIDA Gontor — Universitas Darussalam Gontor proudly celebrates the outstanding academic achievement of three lecturers from the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Humanities, whose scholarly work has reached an international publication standard. On August 17, 2026, this achievement was highlighted as an important contribution to the university’s continuing commitment to strengthening research quality and academic excellence. The accomplishment further demonstrates the dedication of UNIDA Gontor’s academic community to producing research that contributes meaningfully to the development of knowledge and society.
The achievement was accomplished by Al-Ustadz Bambang Setyo Utomo, M.I.Kom., Al-Ustadz Veri Setiawan, M.I.Kom., and Al-Ustadzah Nurhana Marantika, M.I.Kom. Their research paper, entitled “Da’wa Journalism as Media Pedagogy in Indonesian Pesantren,” has been successfully published in a Scopus-indexed journal, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey. The publication reflects their sustained efforts to explore relevant issues in communication, Islamic journalism, education, and the development of pesantren-based knowledge.
The study examines the role of da’wah journalism as a form of media pedagogy within Indonesian pesantren. By bringing together communication studies, journalism, Islamic education, and pesantren traditions, the research offers an academic perspective on how journalistic media can support educational processes and strengthen the dissemination of Islamic values. Its publication in a Scopus-indexed journal also indicates the relevance of the research to broader international academic discussions.
