UNIDA Gontor — Students of the sixth semester of Islamic Economic Law Class C1 participated in an academic enrichment study at the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) Bandung Center on Monday, September 28, 2026, as part of an effort to broaden their understanding of Islamic economic law beyond the classroom. The activity, held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., provided students with an opportunity to observe and learn about the institutional implementation of halal product assurance in Indonesia.

The enrichment study was organized to strengthen students’ understanding of the relationship between Islamic economic principles and their practical application within the national halal ecosystem. Through direct interaction with an institution responsible for halal product assurance, students were introduced to the various aspects of halal governance and its relevance to Islamic economic law.

During the session, the students received an explanation regarding the role, responsibilities, and functions of BPJPH in supporting the implementation of halal product assurance. The discussion provided an important perspective on how regulations and Islamic principles are translated into institutional practices. Such exposure was particularly relevant for students of Islamic Economic Law, whose academic studies include various aspects of Islamic commercial activities, regulation, and the implementation of Sharia principles in society.

The academic session featured a speech by H. Imam Mutawakkil, S.Ag., M.Si., Head of the BPJPH Bandung Center. He shared information and insights concerning BPJPH and its role in strengthening the implementation of halal product assurance. His presentation also helped students understand the institutional mechanisms involved in ensuring that halal principles are properly implemented within the broader economic system.

Discussions concerning halal product assurance also demonstrated the broader relevance of Islamic economic law in contemporary economic activities. This experience is expected to contribute to students’ academic development while encouraging them to develop a more comprehensive perspective on the application of Islamic principles in Indonesia’s economic and regulatory framework.

As an institution committed to integrating Islamic values with academic and professional development, Universitas Islam Terbaik continues to encourage students to gain meaningful learning experiences through academic activities outside the classroom. Programs such as this enrichment study provide students with opportunities to strengthen their knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and prepare themselves for future professional responsibilities.

The visit also highlighted the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and professional or government-related institutions. Such engagement can provide students with firsthand knowledge that complements classroom instruction and enables them to better understand the practical dimensions of their field of study.

For the sixth-semester students of Class C1, the enrichment study at BPJPH Bandung Center served as a valuable academic experience. It strengthened their understanding of halal product assurance while illustrating the connection between Islamic economic law, public policy, institutional governance, and contemporary economic practices.
