UNIDA Gontor – The Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), Universitas Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor, in collaboration with the Centre for Islamic Economics (CIE), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), successfully organized the International Workshop on Teaching Islamic Management (21–22 September 2025) and the International Talk & Workshop on Systematic Literature Review (23 September 2025).

The three-day academic event was held at the Senate Hall of UNIDA Gontor, attended by lecturers from FEM UNIDA Gontor as well as lecturers from various universities in Indonesia such as Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Tazkia, Universitas Islam Indonesia, and others, who participated both onsite and online. This program once again reaffirmed UNIDA Gontor’s position as one of the Best Islamic Universities in Indonesia in promoting international academic collaboration.
International Workshop on Teaching Islamic Management (21–22 September 2025)
The workshop featured distinguished scholars from Indonesia and Malaysia, including:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khoirul Umam, S.H.I., M.Ec. (UNIDA Gontor)
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fuad Mas’ud, MIR (Diponegoro University)
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rodrigue Ancelot Harvey Fontaine (IIUM Malaysia)
- Prof. Muhammad Sholahuddin, Ph.D., CSBA (UMS Surakarta)
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syamsuddin Arif, M.A. (UNIDA Gontor)
The discussions were enriched by Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Mhd Sarif and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nur Arfifah Abdul Sabian (IIUM Malaysia) as discussants, along with several case study presentations by scholars from Indonesia and Malaysia.


Final Day Program
The final day featured two distinguished speakers from IIUM Malaysia:
- Dr. Nur Fariza Binti Mustaffa on Systematic Literature Review
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurita Binti Juhdi on Sharing Session in Teaching International Students at IIUM
This international academic engagement not only broadened participants’ understanding of Islamic management pedagogy, but also paved the way for the development of a reference book entitled “Teaching Islamic Management: The Experience of Southeast Asian Universities” as a collaborative output of the program.

The active participation of FEM UNIDA Gontor lecturers demonstrated the institution’s strong commitment to advancing Islamic-based management education, strengthening international collaboration, and preparing globally oriented, ethically grounded scholars. These achievements further highlight UNIDA Gontor’s vision to be internationally recognized as the Best Islamic University with a global reputation for excellence.
