Faculty of Syari’ah and Law UNIDA Gontor Sends Off Students for International Student Exchange at UNISSA Brunei Darussalam

UNIDA Gontor — Universitas Darussalam Gontor, recognized as one of the best Islamic universities in Indonesia, through the Faculty of Syari’ah and Law (FSH), officially held a Send-Off Ceremony for students participating in the International Student Exchange Program from the Department of Comparative School of Jurisprudence and Law. This program, which took place on 15 January 2026, is part of the university’s commitment to strengthening academic internationalization and expanding global academic cooperation, reflecting its status as a top Islamic university.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Planning, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Setiawan Bin Lahuri, M.A., the Dean of the Faculty of Syari’ah and Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Imam Kamaluddin, Lc., M.Hum.; all Vice Deans of the Faculty; the Head of the Department of Comparative School of Jurisprudence and Law, Ust. Saipul Nasution, S.H., M.A., Ph.D., as well as representatives from the department’s student affairs division. The event was conducted in a solemn and academic atmosphere, accompanied by messages emphasizing intellectual development and character building.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Syari’ah and Law emphasized that students selected for the International Student Exchange Program are expected to serve as exemplary representatives of the university and the faculty. Students were encouraged to demonstrate adaptability in both academic and non-academic environments, and to actively engage in lectures, scholarly discussions, and supporting academic activities throughout the program.

The Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Planning delivered a motivational message by quoting the phrase “كون عند حسن الجامعة,” underscoring the importance of being the best representation of the university. He highlighted the role of students as ambassadors of UNIDA Gontor during their stay in Brunei Darussalam, particularly within the academic environment of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Brunei Darussalam, by upholding academic excellence, ethical conduct, and Islamic values.

The closing remarks were delivered by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation of the Faculty of Syari’ah and Law, who reminded students to uphold the principles of 5S throughout the program, namely Security, Self Improvement, Social Engagement, Sustainable Relationship, and Safe and Health, as essential guidelines for personal conduct, academic growth, and well-being during the exchange.

The students officially participating in the International Student Exchange Program at UNISSA are Rio Ramadan, Ahmad Syauqi Ibadiyas Syakur, Muhammad Faisal Zacki, Muhamad Agung Abdullah, Muhammad Ikhram Sayid Al Fath, and Raditia Fahreza. They are expected to uphold the good name of the university and contribute positively to academic and intercultural exchanges.

Through this International Student Exchange Program, the Faculty of Syari’ah and Law UNIDA Gontor hopes that students will not only gain valuable international academic experience but also broaden their global perspectives, strengthen scholarly networks, and promote the Islamic and intellectual values of UNIDA Gontor at the international level.
