UNIDA Gontor – In a bid to strengthen academic collaboration, the Faculty of Medicine at UNIDA Gontor visited Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya on June 2, 2025. The visit was led by Vice Dean III of UNIDA’s Faculty of Medicine, Ahmad Saifulloh, Ph.D., and Head of the Medical Education Program, dr. Ilyu ‘Ainun Najie’, M.Kes., and was accompanied by representatives of IKPM in Turkiye.

The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Şükrü Nail Güner, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Necmettin Erbakan University, along with Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Akça. The meeting, filled with mutual enthusiasm, focused on building academic bridges and exploring potential cooperation between the two institutions.

One of the highlights of the discussion was Necmettin Erbakan University’s offer to provide team teaching support for UNIDA Gontor. Prof. Güner emphasized that this initiative could be readily implemented using video teleconferencing technology, allowing Turkish professors to contribute to UNIDA’s medical curriculum remotely. The offer was well-received by dr. Ilyu, who committed to coordinating the effort in collaboration with the Head of UNIDA’s Medical Education Unit.

In addition to academic support, Necmettin Erbakan’s medical faculty also expressed interest in participating in collaborative research projects. They signalled readiness to join UNIDA’s research team on seven projects scheduled for the current year, contributing particularly in the areas of data analysis and publication.

Following the meeting, the UNIDA delegation toured several of Necmettin Erbakan’s educational facilities, including the anatomy, histology, and microbiology laboratories, lecture halls, and the university library. The visit concluded with an inspection of the on-campus teaching hospital. Prof. Güner provided a comprehensive overview of how these state-of-the-art facilities support the medical education process. The visit marks another significant step in UNIDA Gontor’s ongoing efforts to expand its global academic network and strengthen the quality of its medical education through strategic international partnerships.
