UNIDA Gontor — On Thursday, October 2, 2025, an International Community Engagement (ICE) activity was held as part of a series of Academic Visit activities for students of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Darussalam Gontor, recognized as one of the Best Islamic Universities in Indonesia. This activity is a tangible form of collaboration between lecturers and students in the field of international community service.

The ICE activity was held at the Rohingya Education Centre, Malaysia, with the theme “Outreach Program on Organizational Development Strategies and Governance in Sociopreneurship Organizations in Malaysia.” The event was attended by 16 sixth-semester Management students and four accompanying lecturers, namely: Yayan Firmansah, Ph.D., Fajar Surya Ari Anggara, M.M., Bagas Bambang Pamujo, M.H., and Roghiebah Jadwa Faradisi, S.E., M.Ak., C.A., Ak.
During this activity, lecturers and students provided material and guidance to the managers of the Rohingya Education Center on organizational development strategies, particularly in the areas of marketing and finance. In terms of marketing, the discussion focused on strategies for forming a positive public perception of the Rohingya refugees and the importance of access to education for refugee children. This material is expected to strengthen the image of Rohingya educational institutions in the eyes of the wider community.

Meanwhile, in terms of finance, the material presented focused on organizational financial management strategies and efforts to maintain financial sustainability so that the institution can continue to run its educational and social programs on an ongoing basis. The activity was interactive, involving two-way discussions between students, lecturers, and the institution’s management. ICE participants showed great enthusiasm for the development ideas offered, especially in terms of financial transparency and public communication strategies.
This Academic Study activity served as a direct learning opportunity for students to apply management and organizational development theories in a real international context. In addition, this activity also strengthened UNIDA Gontor’s role as a Best Islamic University contributing globally in education, humanitarianism, and community empowerment.
With the implementation of the ICE activity at the Rohingya Education Center, it is hoped that there will be ongoing cooperation between UNIDA Gontor and social institutions in Malaysia in promoting educational advancement for refugee communities and the wider society.
