Unida Gontor- Islamic Economics and Management Olympiad (IEMO) at the University of Darussalam Gontor has been completed. It was closed with a prize night held in the Hall of CIOS (17/03). The competition which lasted for two days followed by all students from Islamic economics and management Department of Faculty of Economics and Management from several campuses of Unida Gontor including Siman, Gontor, Mantingan and Magelang Campus.
They followed the competition of over 9 branches including, Economics and Accounting Quizes, Economics and Statistics Debates, Master of Economics, Scientific Writing, Business Plan, Poster and Short Movie of Islamic economics. At this event, it was announced that students of Islamic economics of Magelang Campus became the general champion at the Olympiad. The favorite winner won by management students from Mantingan Campus.
The event is an annual event organized by the Department of Islamic Economics of Faculty of Economics and Management. This year, Siman Campus hosted the event and 4th semester students of Islamic economics department became the committee.
According to Arta Zulian Efendi, the committee chairman, the olympiad aims were to measure the understanding of economics and management students towards Islam both theoretically and practically. In addition, the agenda was also expected to encourage students to sharpen their ability in Islamic economics in order to popularize the concept of Islamic economics as a solution of the recent economics problems.
The event was held from Thursday till Friday, February 16-17th 2017. It was started with a seminar on the theme: “Maximizing the Global Halal Tourism Potential for Increasing Economic Growth Acceleration” by Al-Ustadz Ari Fajar Surya Anggara, MM as the Keynote Speaker. This event was officially closed by the Head of Administrative Bureau of Academic Affairs and the lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Al-Ustadz Royyan Ramdhani Djayusman, MA
