Youth, a nation’s biggest assets in the international arena

UNIDA Gontor – International Relations Department, Faculty of Humanities of UNIDA Gontor held a public lecture entitled “Wisdom Speech” on Tuesday morning 16/10/2018. It discussed the role of Indonesia as a member of the non-permanent security council at UN in 2019-2020. In this occasion, the committee from International Relations Department held an event at the hall on the 3rd floor of the UNIDA Gontor Main building. It invited a speaker from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana. He serves as Indonesian Consulate General for New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

The event was attended by all UNIDA Gontor academicians from the International Relations Department. “Even though Rector of UNIDA Gontor Prof. Dr. Amal Fathullah Zarkasyi, M.A. could not attend the event due to other important duties, but it did not dampen the spirit of the committee, participants, and the lecturers to participate in succeeding this rare event,” said Al-Ustadz Dr. Ahmad Hidayatullah Zarkasyi, M.A., who served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. In his speech, he also expressed his deepest gratitude to Dr. Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana as the speaker, all staffs and participants who had the opportunity to attend the event.

Dr. Yayan GH Mulyana in his presentation appreciated young generation’s spirit and enthusiasm in conducting scientific studies. He even reminisced his past when he was still a college student. He added, ” it is always impressive and valuable being a student. I, myself, want to repeat those days attending the college.”

High enthusiasm and appreciation of the event can be seen from questions asked by the lecturers and students. From the discussion, it can be assured that we are ready to become leaders in the future, as running car review and are able to become the next Dr. Yayan GH Mulyana who will carry out the state tasks in order to make Indonesia famous in the international arena.
