Jakarta-The Vice President of Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK) delivered his appreciation to University of Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor as the host of the International Conference of Afro-Asian University Forum (AAUF) that will be held on 22-23 July 2018. Besides, he stated his readiness to welcome the conference delegations on 24 July 2018. These statements were delivered by JK to the representative of University of Darussalam Gontor at the Presidency Palace on Friday (13/7).
“Alhamdulillah that the Vice President appreciates UNIDA Gontor for the conference of Afro-Asian University Forum and he would be ready to welcome the conference delegations at the afternoon or the evening of 24 July 2018”, Dr. Setiawan bin Lahuri said after having a discussion with the Vice President.
At the meeting, there were the Head of UNIDA Gontor Board of Trustees, KH Akrim Mariyat, the Vice Rector II of UNIDA Gontor Dr. Setiawan bin Lahuri and the representative of Gontor, Akrimul Hakim.
As mentioned in the previous news, 12 of the 20 AAUF Founders Board confirmed their participation in the event. They came from Pakistan, Sudan, Maladewa, Brunei Darussalam, Chad, Tarthaztan, Uganda, Aljazair, Yordania, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, and Egypt.
As it was planned before, the international conference will be opened by the minister of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia at the meeting hall of Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Institution on 22 July 2018. [H. Wafi]
